2017 – Other Contributors

This event couldn’t possibly be a success without the collaboration and contributions of so many different people and companies. I would like to take a moment to thank them here for their part in the 2016 Bass Bash!

First — let me thank all of the great sponsors and vendors who have contributed funds and donated giveaways for the raffle.  In order to put on these shows in larger venues to accomodate our growing audience, the expense for venue rental and production  have increased considerably over the years.  The The Bass Bash could not happen with their generosity.  I  can’t express my gratitude enough for your willingness to continue to support live music!

But, don’t let me forget YOU, the audience!  This year is the first year that the event will have an admission charge of $10.  I want to thank you all in advance for your support of this event over the many years.  Without YOU, this 14 year tradition could not continue.  Let’s keep this low end traditional alive!

Although Jack Trifiro cannot be with us to run sound this year, he is working behind the scenes advancing the show and has been invaluable to me as always.  Jack is one of the best Production Managers I know in the industry who is tour manager and runs front of house sound for for Victor Wooten. I trust you above anyone else for advice on production for this gig and any gig… Jack, I am your forever grateful for all that you do for me – you rock!

There’s someone I need to thank that is not visible at all in this bass community, but has been my biggest supporter – my daughter, Shauna Weber.  It’s a huge undertaking to organize this event and never expected to be doing it myself.  The last few months I’ve felt like a cross between an octopus and a Tasmanian Devil and if it wasn’t for her support emotionally and financially it would not have happened.  She’s a fabulous jeweler and some of her bass clefs pendents in solid sterling silver or bronze will be for sale at the shows if you are interested.

Special thanks to Dennis Moody, good friend and technical advisor.  I don’t know what I would have done without  your expertise and outstanding professional network ties!  It’s an honor to have you in my circle of friends.

Joining me personal assistants at the event will be two of my close friends Liz Greve and Mike Montgomery, both incredible upright bassists. Liz I have to single out and thank personally for listening to me for the past four months while going through the ups an downs of putting together this show.  Along with them will be Jedd Chlebowski, Ron Tarsan and Darren Ciemensky.  They will all be helping me sell tickets at the door,  sell raffle tickets, and assist with administrative needs during the event and at NAMM as liaison with the VIP sponsors and vendors.  Special thanks to Constance Adler Galloway for always taking great care of the artists in the greenroom!

This year, I have to thank Martyn Claes of Auntie M Creative Consultants for providing us with production this year.  If you’re looking for pro audio sound and event services, you have to check these guys out.  They’ve been incredible to work with!

Our audio engineer from Auntie M,  Moises Estrada and audio tech Michael Claes will be volunteer stage hands Chris DeMott and Angelo Macaraeg.   If you see them running back and forth from the stage, give them room!  These guys are brave to take on this job for two nights – thanks so much for volunteering your time and services. It is greatly appreciated by the Bass Bash team.

As always, we rely on our backline to be provided by CenterStaging – thank you Chuch and Ben for helping us with the final gear arrangements and making it all look easy!

Thank you, Dave Avenius at Aguilar Amplification – Aguilar has been supporting this great event in so many ways since it’s origins about 14 years ago.   I could not have done this without the expertise, friendship and continued support that has been extended to me.   Over the years, your professionalism never ceases to amaze me, as do the entire staff at your organization. It is always a great pleasure to collaborate on any project with you.

There will be press coverage by No Treble and Bass Player Magazine and Bass Musician Magazine.  It is an honor to have these publications present at the event. Thank you so much for supporting this great annual event!

The Bass Bash website was created by George Waterman and he advises me when I get stuck on how to do my updates and has taught me a lot about WordPress.  If you’re looking for some web design, give George a shout!
